Structure From Motion (SfM) Demo
General tips:
- JPEG is less reliable
- Color palate manipulation in smartphone photos can present issues
- Lossless formats preferable
- .TIFF
- .RAW
Steps:
- Open Agisoft PhotoScan
- In Workspace, "Enable Chunks"
- Add two chunks
- Time_0
- Time_1
- Add photos
- Estimate image quality
- Filters out photos with motion blur, etc.
- Quality ranges from 0-1
- Poor quality photos (perhaps <0.7) can be eliminated
- Glossy and reflective surfaces are difficult to resolve
- Workflow --> Align Photos
- Sparse point cloud
- The number pad is helpful for orientation in the 3D workspace
- Dense point cloud
- Create Mesh
- Batch Process
- Useful for the "Save Project After Each Step" feature
- Not useful for traversing through all of the processing steps
